“First Shots” Program
“First Shots” Program – A Free Introduction to Shooting and Firearm Safety
The “First Shots” Program, developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), provides a thorough introduction to shooting and firearms safety, and is offered by SharpShooters free of charge on a regular basis. This is a great fundamentals class for individuals and families looking to learn more about the basics of responsibly handling a firearm.

The 4 Basic Rules Of Gun Safety:
- Always treat firearms like they are loaded. Always.
- Never point the muzzle at anything you are not willing to destroy.
- Always keep your finger outside the trigger guard until you are ready to shoot.
- Always be certain of your target and what’s beyond it.
